Discipleship Vision

At the center of our vision for the church are small groups, or cells, of believers who meet once a week for study, prayer, and personal encouragement. The Goal: To reproduce the character of Christ in every believer, enabling each to become a leader, a person who influences others to follow Christ.

Cell groups provide the structure to connect, nurture, and grow mature believers who are taught sound doctrine, and continue in fellowship, communion, and prayer. These can then be sent into the harvest field. These groups can meet in homes, work places, or other public facilities reducing the facility requirements for the ministry. They can be mobilized to provide helps ministry workers for every function of the ministry. In dangerous times they could carry on the work of the ministry even if they were forced to go “underground”. The cells increase the possibility for developing sound relationships with other believers, an indispensable characteristic of a healthy church.

Ephesians 4:12-16 “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head; Christ; from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
