There is a powerful relationship between the name and the blood. Sometimes our sins seem overwhelming and damnable. These rise to our necks and threaten to drown us– but Jesus is Immanuel, God with us!
There are a series of doors depicted in stories throughout the Bible that point to the gospel message. These doors represent a decision, they are either a bridge to salvation, or a barrier resulting in damnation. They all point to Jesus, who died for us to open the door to salvation, should we choose to open the door of our hearts to Him, the resurrected Christ.
Resurrection Sunday is the greatest event in History. Two thousand years ago, Jesus conquered death at the cross and paid for all of our sins in full so that in Him we could have eternal life.
Multitudes still have no concept of Who God is, that He loves them and that He sent His Son, Jesus, into this world. Now we have the ministry of reconciliation with Jesus’ authority and power to carry on and further His work.
Early in church history, Jesus commanded His disciples to “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons.” As they followed His instructions, they came back reporting great success. Will the church engage the current crisis with similar results, or with it cut and run?
